Spend the Province of BC’s $250 mil Housing Endowment Fund

In 2007 the BC government put $250 million in a housing endowment fund, intending to use only the interest on the funds for "innovative housing solution."

With a government-funded Simon Fraser University study showing that it cost taxpayers about $33 million a year to maintain homelessness, not spending the full Housing Endowment Fund on housing now is a waste of taxpayers money as well as cruel for people who are homeless. $250 million would build at least 1250 housing units outright, or be a great down payment on the 3200 units we need in Vancouver to meet Olympic commitments.
